Awesome rainy/cold day place to explore and it has a large playground space for the kids to run around safely! My daughter wandered off from us at one point and the staff was super quick and helpful in helping us find her. The boat ride is cool and worth the extra $12. The guys running it have some cool stories about the hundreds of fish in the tank.

Took the family for a school field trip. Had lots of fun. The information about the different creatures was well displayed making it easy to learn. The two different levels to the playground are conveniently located for rest points where the kids could burn off some energy before continuing on. Other features we enjoyed where the shark tunnel, penguin parade, and dive show. Near the end of the aquarium there's a little food court. Prices are high but that was that was be expected. Its $4 just for an order of fries and $3 for a corn dog or hot dog and those where the cheapest items on the menu. Despite the prices the food was good and it was a convention place to stop for a quick bite before the long drive home since we didn't want to stop elsewhere. The whole family enjoyed being able to watch the sting rays in the giant aquarium next to the food court.

Awesome aquarium and very military friendly :) I'm not one to seek out a discount, but I'm always appreciative when it's given. The aquarium has some excellent enclosures and the animals seem well cared for. The staff is very friendly and attentive in their jobs. Definitely a great spot for the family or anyone who loves aquatic life, there's so much to see!!!

My family and I had a great time here skiing! I would recommend going earlier rather than later so you can ski on the fresh snow. As the day went on it got more icy towards the end, but that's just the nature of it. The ski lifts were easy to get on and off, and all of the staff were very helpful and nice! Great place to spend the day, we took the tram up and down too and we all really enjoyed that experience.

This was a fun activity to do while exploring Gatlinburg. An easy way to go between Ober and downtown (10 minute ride every 20-30 minutes). You get great views. We did this to get lunch after snow tubing. My kids loved the view and mechanics. Not crowded on a weekday in January.

Took the tram to Amusement park on hill top that has ice bumper cars, ice skating with no time limit where kids had loads of fun. We missed the snow tubing, would recommend anyone to purchase tubing tickets well ahead.

Unicoi State Park is one of the most popular parks in Georgia. Some of the many reasons why it attracts so many visitors includes the parks outstanding natural beauty, a wide range of amenities, and Unicoi State Park's proximity to the alpine village of Helen. Smith Lake, often called Unicoi Lake, is the scenic centerpiece of the park.

unicoistatepark.org : Unicoi State Park, Helen GA

We have been to the Unicoi State Park & Lodge many times for conferences. This is a good option for hiking, team building and other group trips. It is a little outside of Helen though, so this would be your option if the state park was your primary reason for travel.

Endless Family Travels : Things to do in Helen Georgia on Vacation

We stayed in Helen, but came by to hike and see the sights. It is a beautiful drive up, and there are several hiking trails worth trying out. There are short ones that are more disability friendly and much longer loop trails for experienced hikers. It's inexpensive to get in and there is a nice little lobby area that doubles as a gift shop. The lake is quite pretty and the bridge directly over it seemed a pretty good area to fish.

There is literally so much I could say about this lovely place. My husband and I took an RV trip for our honeymoon and I have absolutely 0 complaints. From arriving to leaving we were treated with such kindness from Mike our shuttle driver to Chris at the lodge as well as Patti! They went above and beyond to make sure our stay here was perfect and it was. We honestly did not want to leave. The scenery was gorgeous and we really enjoyed Helen. We will come back to see all the kind people we made friends and I encourage anyone to come here during any time of the year. You won't regret it.

This is a nice lodge. Roomy rooms; day rooms in each building; fire pit; conference center; restaurant serving breakfast and lunch; Tavern serving alcohol and dinner. The food was very good. From a conference perspective, the A/V setup was absolutely unacceptable. Do NOT pay for the use of their equipment or sign a contract with them without first viewing the A/V setup. Unless they invest some money in it, it is not suitable for a good conference. Most in the room could not read the slides; it was an embarrassment for the conference hosts. There are two parking lots. There are nice views; it's in a lovely area. Lodge staff were friendly and helpful.
