Summer Worship at KUMC

May 29 - August 14

During the summer months, Kirkwood United Methodist Church's worship schedule will change to Summer Worship.

From May 29 - August 14, Sunday Worship will be a THE ONE Worship at 10 am in the Sanctuary.

Kid's Worship and Childcare will be available during Summer Worship and start at 10 am also. Parents will need to come a little early to check your children into the proper rooms for Kid's Worship in the KUMC's Gym and Childcare on the Preschool wing in rooms 206 7 208 for infants and toddlers.

All are welcome to join worship at KUMC this summer at 10 am in the Sanctuary, or watch live on our Facebook Page.

    9:00 am Contemporary Worship

    Contemporary Worship meets in The Commons downstairs led by Pastor Katie and the Contemporary Band led by Jeremy Melton.

    10:30 am Traditional Worship

    Traditional Worship meets in the Sanctuary led by Pastor Katie Trinter with music provided by Director of Traditional Worship, Dolan Bayless and The Chancel Choir.

    THE ONE at 10 am

    On a 5th Sunday of a month, KUMC has THE ONE Worship, and sometimes on other special Sundays throughout the year too! THE ONE is one blended worship with both Contemporary and Traditional elements for the whole congregation to celebrate together in the sanctuary at 10 am.  The next THE ONE is Sunday, May 15th for the Children's Musical.

    A video recording of worship will be added to our Sermon library on the website Sermon page each week, or you can view all sermons on our Vimeo Page.

    Kids Worship & Childcare 8:45 am - 11:30 am

    Childcare (for infants - 3 yrs) and Kids Worship for ages 3 yrs (and potty trained) - 5th grade is offered during both worship times. Check infants and toddlers into rooms 203 & 204, and Kids into Kid's Worship in KUMC's gym, ten minutes before the start of worship.

  • FIRED UP! - M.A.D. Camp at KUMC is JULY 18 - 24

    Registration is now open

    M.A.D. Camp is for children and youth entering grades 3-8 who love music, singing, dancing, and dramatic arts. No previous experience is necessary.This year's musical is "Fired Up!",  a light-hearted retelling of the 6th century B.C.E. story of the King of Babylon forcing many into prison including Meshach, Abednego, and Shadrach. This story has been a favorite of students over the years! There are moments of deep feelings and humor as the story is told to communicate the core message: regardless of circumstances we follow a loving God worthy of trust. So get "Fired Up!" for some fun this summer and register now on our webpage for the early bird rate for M.A.D. Camp!

  • MOnumental VBS AT KUMC is June 13 -17

    KUMC Children's Ministries is excited to announce the dates for summer vacation bible school! We will host "Monumental VBS: Celebrating God's Greatness" the week of June 13-17th from 9:00 am-12:00 pm for kids who are four-years-old by August 1, 2022 through rising 5th graders.  Your kids are in for a howlin' good time as they meet new friends, do amazing experiments, play creative games, enjoy super fun snacks and incredible music!  This will be an exciting week of fun and fellowship as we explore God's great love for us.     You're invited to come and play this summer at KUMC on Family Fun Nights! KUMC Children's Ministries has a fun activity planned for the whole family each month this summer from May to August from 6 - 7 pm in the evening in KUMC's Parking Lot.  All are welcome to come, just drop in when you can.     Monthly Meetings this Summer

    Calling all 3rd, 4th and 5th graders! You have a group of your own at KUMC now.  Children's Director Lisa Hendry has a fun event planned for you each month of the summer to get together and meet new friends. You're invited to bring your friends with you too! The more the merrier! There are game nights at church, mini golf trips, and other fun nights planned. Find the schedule on our Chidren's Page.

  • Souper Saturdays - For PreSchoolers & Parents

    Saturday, July 2, 4:30 - 6:30 PM in KUMC's GyM

    Do you have a preschooler? Are you looking to find playmates for them and connect with other families nearby? You're invited to come and develop close friendships and join the fun at Souper Saturdays at Kirkwood United Methodist Church. The next monthly gathering is on July 2nd from 4:30-6:30 in KUMC's Gym and then first Saturdays of the month there after. The kids will make lasting friendships as they run off energy, and you won't need to cook! Older and younger siblings are welcome to come along too. Parents will enjoy soup, and the kids will have their own meal. Please contact Carol Fischer so we know how much food to provide, and let her know if you have any food restrictions. Youth Director Jeremy Melton has some fun activities planned for students from rising 6th - 12th grades each month this summer.  There are middle school activities for 6th - 8th grades, and high school activities for rising 9th - 12th grades.
